This Privacy Policy explains how Meolink Team (“Meolink”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the Meolink mobile application and related services (the “Service”).

Meolink is your personal barista log. Capture coffee moments with photos and notes, track habits, and discover your unique taste preferences with a personalized flavor profile based on your inputs.

2) Age Requirement (17+)

The Service is intended for users who are at least 17 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 17. If you believe a child under 17 has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

3) Information We Collect

We collect information in three ways: (a) you provide it, (b) we collect it automatically, and (c) we receive it through service interactions (for example, support).

3.1 Information You Provide

  • Account information: name, username, email address.
  • Profile details (optional): name and username.
  • Customer support information: the content of messages you send to support (and attachments you choose to provide).
  • Coffee journal content: photos you take or upload, flavor notes, shop and time details, and other entries you add.
  • Location information (optional): precise or approximate location if you grant permission.

3.2 Information We Collect Automatically

  • Device information: device model, OS version, language, app version, and identifiers necessary for basic functionality.
  • Usage analytics: feature usage, interactions, navigation patterns, and approximate timestamps.
  • Crash logs and diagnostics: logs needed to detect, diagnose, and fix errors.
  • Location information (if authorized): precise or approximate location while using relevant features.

3.3 Cookies, Web Beacons, and Similar Technologies

If the Service includes web-based components (such as login or embedded web views), we may use cookies and similar technologies (which may include web beacons) for login/session management and remembering preferences and settings.

You can typically control cookies through your device or browser settings; however, disabling cookies may affect certain features.

4) AI-Assisted Features (If Enabled by You)

Some features may use automated processing (“AI-assisted features”) to help you create or enhance content—such as generating a personalized flavor profile, summarizing notes, or extracting structured details from photos/text to improve your coffee log.

  • Your inputs (photos/text) are processed only on Meolink Team’s own servers to provide the requested result.
  • We do not share AI-processing inputs with any third party.
  • We delete the photos/text used for AI-assisted processing immediately after processing is complete (or as soon as technically feasible).
  • You control whether to upload content for AI-assisted processing.

5) Photos, Face Data, and Biometric Information

  • We do not perform facial recognition and we do not create or store biometric identifiers/templates.
  • If you submit a photo for a one-time generation/enhancement result, it is processed once and then deleted.
  • Photos are intended for journaling and are not used for targeted advertising or marketing.

6) How We Use Information

  • Provide and maintain the Service (account creation, syncing, saving entries).
  • Personalize your experience (preferences, organization, insights).
  • Improve the Service (feature development, bug fixes, performance).
  • Safety and security (fraud prevention, abuse detection, enforcing policies).
  • Customer support (responding to inquiries).
  • Legal compliance (responding to lawful requests, meeting obligations).

8) How We Share Information

We share information only as necessary and in the minimum amount required:

  • With your consent or at your direction.
  • With service providers/contractors processing data on our behalf under confidentiality and security obligations.
  • For legal reasons (to comply with law, regulation, or legal process).
  • To protect rights and safety (enforce terms, prevent harm, protect users and the Service).

AI-assisted inputs (photos/text used for AI processing) are not shared with any third party and are deleted after processing.

9) International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent mechanisms.

10) Data Security

  • Encryption in transit and encryption at rest where appropriate.
  • Access controls and least-privilege practices.
  • Regular audits and monitoring.
  • Backup and recovery procedures.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. You use the Service at your own risk.

11) Data Retention

  • Account data: for the duration of your account.
  • After account deletion: delete or anonymize personal information within 30 days (subject to legal requirements).
  • Usage analytics: up to 12 months.
  • Customer support records: up to 6 months.

We may retain de-identified or aggregated information longer where it cannot reasonably be linked to you.

12) Your Rights and Choices

  • Access your personal information.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Delete your personal information.
  • Restrict or object to certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent (for example, location permissions or optional uploads).
